Physical
and chemical data are collected from each lagoon system in order to:
- characterize the morphodynamic and hydrogeological processes in
each lagoon;
- build up the sedimentary facies and the sedimentary geometry;
- determine the pollutant elements distribution in space and time;
- establish the impact of pollutants and their distribution in microorganisms.
Milestones:
Technical meetings for planning (month 1) and review (month 3) of
the sampling methodology. Review of intermediate results from each
sampling campaign at Coordination meetings (months 6, 12, 18 and 24) |

The
objective is to determine the areas that are likely to be morphologically
and/or chemically modified through the analysis of the factors which
influence the hydro-dynamical processes and the pollutants distribution.
Evolution scenarios are then developed taking into consideration seasonal
variations.
Milestone:
Validity tests of the different scenarios following the 4th sampling
period (month 24) |
|
| P3 |
Present morphodynamic scenario |
Ocean-color data for the
management of lagoons

The
intermediate objectives are to:
- Build the LCA of the fishery (in Morocco) and of the waste water
purification station (in Tunisia)
- Assess the contribution of these developments to the overall level
of pollution present in both lagoons
- Identify the processes and/or stages that could be improved to reduce
pollution for both developments.
Milestones:
Partner meetings with end-users for LCA (months 12, 18) and LCA validity
verification after feedback (month 29) |

Using
all outputs from the previous workpackages, the aim is to develop:
- Data processing tool which couples the LCA data with the GIS database
in order to take into account spatial differentation
- Technical cards for the LCA's of the fishery and the waste water
purification station showing how pollution can be reduced through
improved processes and/or stages
- Guidelines to achieve sustainable development
Milestones:
Meetings with enterprises and public authorities for feedback and
impact measurement (months 24 and 34) |
|
| P2 |
Elaboration of computer

A data processing tool for
the local public authority |
